The annual bukiwaza workshop took place on Sunday, 23 June 2024 in Balbriggan near Martello Tower.
Raman Bekarevich sensei decided to explain the basic principles of Ken-Tai-Jo, which are advanced techniques for counteracting katana using the staff. Since none of the attendees had practiced these techniques before, he covered Ken-Tai-Jo Awase Exercises and the first two Ken-Tai-Jo.
The afternoon session of the workshop was dedicated to Tachidori, the sword-taking techniques. Raman sensei emphasized the difference between right and left stances in Tachidori, and how to adjust the technique for different entrances.
